Privacy Policy

Pounce Hire (“Pounce Hire”, “we”, “us”) helps job seekers build a portfolio, find remote jobs, and send tailored job applications from their own email. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Pounce Hire you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (managed by our authentication provider), or the basic profile you authorize when you sign in with Google.
• Portfolio & resume data — the resume you upload and the profile details you add (work history, education, skills, contact details, sample work). Some of this is displayed on your public portfolio page only if you choose to publish it.
• Application data — the jobs you select, the cover emails and resume PDFs we generate for you, and the delivery/open status of applications you send.
• Google account data — if you connect Gmail, we receive an OAuth token that lets us send email on your behalf. See “Google user data” below.
• Usage data — basic logs and analytics needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To build and host your portfolio and generate ATS-friendly resumes and cover emails.
• To search remote job listings and match them to your profile.
• To send job applications from your connected email, when you ask us to.
• To operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
• To communicate with you about your account and the service.

Google user data

When you connect your Google account, Pounce Hire requests the gmail.send scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send) plus your basic identity (openid, email) to confirm which inbox is connected.

• We use gmail.send only to send the job-application emails you create and approve (or that you explicitly enable to auto-send), each with your generated cover email and resume PDF.
• We do not read, search, index, or store the contents of your mailbox. We do not request read access to your email.
• We store your Google refresh token encrypted at rest and use it solely to obtain short-lived access tokens for sending.
• You can disconnect Gmail at any time from your dashboard settings, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting deletes the stored token.

Limited Use disclosure. Pounce Hire’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not transfer or use Google user data to train generalized or personalized AI/ML models.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Pounce Hire, under agreements that limit their use of it:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• OpenAI — generating cover emails and resume content from the facts in your profile. (OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.)
• Google — sending email via the Gmail API when you connect your account.
• Resend — transactional/system email (e.g. account notifications).
• GoHighLevel — customer-relationship management for our own communications with you.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual items (resume, portfolio content, Gmail connection) from your dashboard, or request full account deletion by emailing support@pouncehire.com. Deleting your account removes your personal data, including any stored Google tokens, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, encryption of sensitive tokens at rest, and row-level access controls that isolate each account’s data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@pouncehire.com.

Children

Pounce Hire is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the app.
